Taehwagang National Garden
Taehwagang National Garden (roughly 830,000 ㎡) boasts the harmony of the crystal clean Taehwagang River, which is home to multiple fresh water fish species, water dwellers, and a 4 km long bamboo grove. It is the only urban site to be designated as one of the top 20 ecotourism destinations in the country. In addition, Simni Bamboo Grove was selected as an “Accessible Tourism Site” in 2017 and reborn as a tourist-friendly space where everyone, including the elderly and families with babies, can enjoy easy access. Named as the second national garden in July 2019, Taehwagang National Garden is Ulsan’s tourist mecca that attracts visitors with its beautiful vistas and scenic gardens.
In addition to Simni Bamboo Grove, Taehwagang River is home to about 900 species of flora and fauna, including reeds, silver grasses, cattails, white herons, otters, raccoons, water deer, some rare fish species, such as daces, sweetfish, and salmon, as well as indigenous fishes, including Korean rose bitterlings and spotted barbelgudgeons. The MigratoryBird Eco Park inside Taehwagang National Garden is the country’s largest urbanmigratory bird sanctuary where nearly 8,000 herons of 7 species give birth and raise their young, and about 100,000 crows, including rooks and Daurian jackdaws, dance in groups. The eco park offers various eco-experience programs, including summer white heron school and winter rook school

Taehwagang Donggulpia
Taehwagang Donggulpia is a cave that is believed to have been a supply dump for the Japanese army during the Japanese colonial era. Currently, the cave contains interesting attractions such as a cool artificial waterfall and fountain and a digital sketch aquarium.
Ulsan Grand Park, the nation’s best urban eco-park
Ulsan Grand Park is one of the best urban eco-parks in the country. With its theme of being natural, clean, and comfortable, this 3.71-million-square-meter park offers a perfect rest area where visitors enjoy thepark’spristine air. The park attracts many family visitors all year round with its seasonal events, including the Tulip Festival and Rose Festival in spring, exhibitions in summer and autumn, and the Light Festival in winter
Visitors can observe about 800 butterflies of 6 species, including swallowtail and cabbage butterflies.
The 270m long Metasequoia Tree Road, along with other facilities, such as the 60 m long red clay trail for barefoot walking and a washroom, gives visitors a refreshing and relaxing experience to enjoy phytoncide in the forest.
The garden offers an astonishing scenery of beautiful pink muhly grass from September to October.
Hamwollu Pavilion
Hamwollu Pavilion, which means “the pavilion embracing the moon,” was built in the style of a traditional pavilion and overlooks Ulsan’s busy streets and Ulsandaegyo Bridge. Nighttime visitors enjoy an especially beautiful view.

Seonbawi Rock boasts a picturesque view composed of a precipice with fantastically shaped rocks and Baengnyongdam Pool in the upper region of the Taehwagang River.
Migratory Bird Center

Malgeunnae Pear Flower Village
Malgeunnae Pear Flower Village is the chief producer of Seosaeng pears, a specialty of Ulsan. The village landscape includes a clean stream, beautiful starry nights, and sparkling fireflies, allowing visitors to experience a pleasant rural life.

Ulsan Sports Park offers picturesque views of the natural landscape including nearby Munsusan Mountain, Namamsan Mountain, and lakes along with the Munsu Football Stadium, known as one of the world’s most beautiful football stadiums.
Cypress Forest Park
The Cypress Forest Park on Cheonmasan Mountain in Dalcheon-dong, Buk-gu,is a 5-hectare area where roughly8, 50030-year-old cypress trees flourish. Relax in the park’s lookout hut and picnic tables and stroll along the Cheonmasan Observatory using the Pine Forest Trail and Fortress Site Trail, which are parts of the Cheonmasan Hiking Trail.
Munsu Healing Picnic Area
With the goal to satisfy the need for a resting place in the city, the Munsu Healing Picnic Area serves as a refreshing therapeutic place, offering a barbecue site, picnic tables, waterscape facilities, and arboreal plants.

Oegosan Onggi Village, the largest onggi(traditional Korean pottery) village in the country, features a unique scene formed by a vast number of onggis. Ulsan Onggi Museum provides a variety of information and exhibits about onggi.
Bongdaesan Mountain, a unique resting place in the city
Near Bongdaesan Mountain is Jujeon Family Recreation Area, which introduces recreational experiences with traditional items such as a treadmill, a waterwheel, and jangseungs, or traditional guardian posts, from around the country. This gently sloped recreation area with a rustic atmosphere is an attractive spot for family hikers. The mountain’s Barefoot Trail leads visitors to the summit and Bonghosa Temple, the filming location for the Korean TV series “May Queen,” and an observatory from which the East Sea and Hyundai Heavy Industries can be seen along with a spectacular view of the sunrise. Baenaegol Valley
Baenaegol Valley offers one of the most wonderful sights in the steep Yeongnam Alps. Many wild pear trees grow around the crystal clear stream, which is the reason why the valley is called Baenaegol ("bae" means pear in Korean).
